$100 and 100 cards for 100 years
The letter posted below about the $100 DOLLARS and 100 CARDS FOR 100 YEARS campaign was sent to many of you via the US mail on July 22, 2019. If you did not receive it, it means that you, or your correct address, are not on our mailing list. Since we want everyone to have an opportunity to help celebrate Coach Redin’s 100th Birthday through our $100 DOLLARS and 100 CARDS FOR 100 YEARS campaign, we are posting the letter as today’s Facebook post.
In addition, last Tuesday, July 30th, Wayland sent out an email with the subject line “Harley Redin’s 100th B-day…shhh it’s a surprise!” Wayland’s Office of Institutional Advancement is creating a compilation of short (15 seconds or less) videos to surprise Harley on his birthday. We encourage you to participate and submit a video to Wayland per their instructions by Friday, August 23. They also gave the option of sending a card which would NOT be associated with our $100 DOLLARS and 100 CARDS FOR 100 YEARS campaign.
The Foundation has taken several calls about whether cards should be sent to Wayland for their surprise celebration or to Cherri Rapp for our $100 DOLLARS and 100 CARDS FOR 100 YEARS campaign. We would appreciate it if you would help the Foundation reach our 100 Card goal and, if possible, make a donation to the Hutcherson Flying Queens Foundation in honor of Coach Harley Redin.
The Hutcherson Flying Queens Foundation invites all Queens, Bees, Coaches and Fans to join us in celebrating HARLEY REDIN FOR A FANTASTIC 100 YEARS on his 100th birthday on August 29, 2019.
Coach Redin has been one of the biggest supporters of the Flying Queens program since the 1950’s, and a personal supporter of all of us when we played for Wayland and all of the years thereafter. This is a great chance to give back to Coach Redin by supporting the Flying Queens program and honoring the Coach who has meant so very much to all of us
The Foundation is requesting that each of you contribute $100, or if you are not able to do so just give whatever amount you can afford, and to send a birthday card to the Foundation to give to Coach Redin We want this to be a surprise for him. If 100 of us give $100 we will raise $10,000 for the Foundation and the money will be used to support the current Flying Queens program. The birthday cards will be sent in one big package to Coach Redin to enjoy on his birthday, and we will give him a souvenir check reflecting the amount raised for the Foundation in his honor.
Please send your check made out to the Hutcherson Flying Queens Foundation and your signed birthday card noting the years you were associated with the Flying Queen program by mail to:
