Purpose
The Team Support Committee strengthens the connection between the Hutcherson Flying Queens Foundation, the current team, and the local community. This group helps carry forward the spirit and pride of the Flying Queens program—past, present, and future.

From Darla Ford, 2nd Vice President – Team Support
I’m proud to give my time to the Foundation because of my Flying Queens experience. In my role overseeing team support, I get to interact with the current team and coaches, help with funding requests, and celebrate their successes as they continue the Flying Queens legacy. I would love to see former coaches, players, managers, and trainers volunteer on the Team Support Committee. It’s a rewarding way to give back.”
What We Do
The Foundation’s Team Support function includes:
Building Membership: Expanding HFQF membership in and around the Plainview area.
Connecting Generations: Engaging with current Flying Queens players to share the program’s proud heritage.
Representing the Foundation: Attending Wayland Baptist University athletic events—especially Queens games—to promote the HFQF and support the team.
Desired Qualifications
The Team Support Committee is looking for individuals who have an affinity for the Flying Queens program and are eager to give back with their time and enthusiasm.
Time Commitment
Most of the committee’s work happens during Wayland’s academic year. Activities are often planned after reviewing the upcoming game schedule and visiting with Coach Vessels. The committee serves as a liaison between the Foundation and the team, helping to keep communication clear and effective.
Past activities have included hosting the team for Thanksgiving and other gatherings, coordinating milestone celebrations such as the 1600th and 1700th program wins, and organizing receptions and team meals. Former Queens have also supported the team by attending games, especially when the Queens play in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
Join Us!
If you love the Flying Queens and want to stay close to the team, this is a fun and meaningful way to do it. Lend your energy, experience, and Flying Queens pride—and help today’s players feel the strength of the legacy they represent.m. Former Queens have hosted a team meal while other former players have attended games when the Queens are in their area.
