Joining the Hutcherson Flying Queens Foundation is where tradition meets tomorrow!
It’s an opportunity to support the Flying Queens, renew friendships and continue a proud legacy of support for one of the most historic and nationally competitive women’s basketball programs in the country.
Highlights from 2025
The 2025 season was a year of success and celebration for the Flying Queens and the Foundation.
On the court: The Flying Queens finished the season with an impressive 26–5 record and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament for the 32nd time since joining the NAIA in the 1982–83 season.
In the museum: The Flying Queens Museum received a transformative boost when Alice “Cookie” Barron and Kaye Garms made a planned gift to benefit both the museum and the Hutcherson Flying Queens Foundation. Their generosity ensures the continued preservation and celebration of the Flying Queens’ extraordinary history.
On the green: The HFQF Annual Golf Tournament returned to the Plainview Country Club and achieved a $20,385.42 profit, continuing its role as the Foundation’s major fundraiser since its inception in 2012. The event provided wonderful opportunities for former players and current team members to connect, volunteer, and share laughter and memories during the tournament and the many socials leading up to it.
A New Way to Engage in 2026
Looking ahead, the Foundation is launching a new initiative in 2026 to strengthen the bond between past and present Flying Queens—a mentorship program connecting Foundation members with current team members. This exciting effort has the full support of Head Coach Jordan Vessels and Wayland Baptist University President Dr. Donna Hedgepath, and promises to build deeper relationships and continue the Flying Queens tradition of excellence, leadership, and community.
Generations built this legacy. Now it’s your turn!
Join the Foundation in 2026, bring your time, talent, and treasure, and be part of helping the Flying Queens’ legacy soar.
