The Flying Queens have started off strong in the 2024-25 season. Heading into the Thanksgiving break, the team is 8-0 overall and 5-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) play.
The Queens have scored over 100 points in three games, finished 2-0 in the Queens Classic and took advantage of playing their first five SAC games at home. The team is averaging 94 points per game with five players averaging in double figures in points per game. The Queens have a veteran line up starting with graduate student Kaitlyn Jerden returning as a starter after sitting out last year with a knee injury. Joining Jerden are seniors Emily Sigala and Linda Brice, junior Megan Nestor, and sophomore Bobbie Fouquet. The five players averaging in double figures scoring are Jerden, Nestor, Fouquet, Brice and super sub junior Teodora Popovic. Nestor, who broke several Flying Queens’ rebound records last season is also averaging double figures in rebounds per game at 13.1.
In December the Queens go on the road for four SAC games leading up to the Christmas break. With 13 teams in the SAC for women’s basketball, the majority of the Queens’ schedule consists of 24 SAC regular season games. The SAC Conference Tournment runs from February 27 through March 4. The NAIA Selection Show is March 6 with the NAIA National Tournament kicking off on March 13.
