Greenville, SC — The NCCAA has announced that Megan Nestor has been named the 2025 NCCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Player of the Year and a First-Team NCCAA All-American after her career year for the Flying Queens. Graduate Kaitlyn Jerden was recognized as an NCCAA Third Team All-American.


Nestor, a junior from Canaries, St. Lucia, earned the NCCAA Player of the Year award after averaging a double-double on the season, 20.5 points per game and 13.5 rebounds per game, and leading the Queens to a 26-5 record on the season.
Nestor led the Queens to the Second Round of the 2025 NAIA Women’s Basketball National Championships after averaging 29.5 pts/g on 67.5% shooting from the floor, 14.0 reb/g, 2.0 ast/g, and 1.5 stl/g.
For the season, Nestor averaged 20.5 pts/g, 63.5% FG%, 13.5 reb/g, 1.4 ast/g, and 2.0 stl/g. Nestor also broke her previous program record for total rebounds in a season (417).
Nestor continues to compile the postseason accolades – adding to her 2025 SAC Player of the Year award, 2025 First Team All-SAC honors, and 2025 NCCAA All-Central Region Team.
Kaitlyn Jerden was recognized as a 2025 NCCAA Third Team All-American after averaging 16.9 pts/g, 45.9% FG%, 37.8% 3PT%, 4.8 reb/g, 2.8 ast/g, and 1.7 stl/g. This is Jerden’s third postseason accolade as well – she also garnered 2025 First Team All-SAC and 2025 NCCAA All-Central Region Team honors.
Jerden finished the season near the top of the Sooner Athletic Conference in multiple statistical categories including: 4th in points per game, 3rd in field goal percentage, and 9th in three-point percentage.
