The Flying Queens played nine Sooner Athletic Conference games in January, finishing with a 7-2 for the month and pushing their overall conference mark to 11-3. For the season the Queens’ overall mark stands at 16-4.

The story for January was Megan Nestor. The 6-foot-four-inch center from Canaries, St. Lucia in the West Indies, recorded six double-doubles highlighted by a record-setting performance against Langston at The Hutch on January 20.

Megan Nestor finished her record setting night with 32 points, 24 rebounds including 10 offensive boards, shot 11-16 from the floor, and made 10 of her 14 free throw attempts. She set single-game career highs in points, rebounds, field goals made, free throws made, and minutes at 35 minutes played.

The Queens will finish the SAC regular season with eight games in February, including four at home. A key February matchup will happen on February 3 against SAC conference leader John Brown University.

The SAC Tournament will run from Feb. 29 through March 5.
