Plainview, Texas – Sophomore Megan Nestor was the winner of this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Oklahoma Ford Dealer’s Player of the Week after averaging 24 pointer per game and 17.5 rebounds per game.
Nestor led the Queens to a 67-58 victory over SAGU on Thursday night, Nestor scored 24 points and tied a Flying Queen single-game record of 22 rebounds. Nestor was the previous single-game rebound record holder after grabbing 22 rebounds in a game earlier this season against Northern New Mexico College.
Nestor then led the Queens to a dominate 97-56 win at home against UNT-Dallas on Saturday night. She scored 24 points yet again and grabbed 13 rebounds to spark the Flying Queen’s victory.
This is the second time a Flying Queen has taken home the Sooner Athletic Conference Oklahoma Ford Dealer’s Player of the Week award after Freshman Bobbie Fouquet won the award last week.
Nestor and the Flying Queens are set to host the Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State University on Tuesday night at the Hutch. This will begin a three game week for Wayland Baptist.
