The Queens started December losing a heartbreaker to Southwestern Christian University in overtime, 81-77, in the first of five SAC games played during the month. The team bounced back to go on a four-game win streak to finish the month at 9-4 overall and 5-2 in SAC play.

Highlights of the run included beating a previously undefeated Mid-American Christian University (MACU) team, 55-54, on a Kaitlyn Edgemon running layout with time running out. The win came two days after the overtime loss to Southwestern Christian University.

A second thriller came against an always tough Langston team. Once again Kaitlyn Edgemon stepped up and hit a go-ahead freethrow with five seconds left and Langston missed a last second desperation shot, giving the Queens a 74-73 victory.

The Queens’s return to action after the Christmas break on January 5, 2023 against John Brown University at The Hutch.

“I hate to have a break while we are finally rolling, but the girls have worked so hard and I know they are ready and deserve a little break…but just a little one,” Queens Coach Jason Cooper said.
