The Wayland Baptist Flying Queens went 5-3 in the last half of Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) regular season play. February opened with a rare forfeit by Oklahoma City University and ended with a disappointing loss to Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) in Waxahachie. The team finished the regular season with a 21-7 overall record and went 16-6 in the SAC Conference.

The Flying Queens finished in third place the conference. John Brown University, ranked no. 13 in the NAIA, won the regular season title with RV (receiving votes) Langston University in second place. The Queens’s finish secured home court in the SAC Conference Tournament quarterfinal match against SAGU on Thursday (Feb. 29) at The Hutch. Tip off is at 6:00 pm.

Megan Nestor an Linda Brice averaged in double figures for the month, averaging 20 points and 16 points, respectively. Nestor finished with double-doubles in all seven games in February.

After the quarterfinal games on Feb. 29, the SAC Tournament moves to host school Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth for the semifinal games and championship final, March 4 and 5.
