The team finished the month 8-1 with the lone loss coming against Langston, 60-69, at the mid-point of the January run. The Queens bounced back and won the final five games in the stretch, including a win on Feb. 1 against Nelson University, 75-59. We’re throwing in the first game in February since it took place on Feb. 1, right after the UNT-Dallas matchup on Jan. 31. Kaitlyn Jerden and Megan Nester dominated play in the third quarter that helped the Queens build a 20 point lead, 60-40 going into the fourth quarter. The final score was 75-59.
The Queens have five more games in Feruary, including a Feb. 6 rematch against Southwestern Christian University, who upset the Queens 76-86 on Dec. 5 in Bethany, Okla. The team will close out regular season on Thursday, Feb. 20 against Mid America Christian University at The Hutch.
“It’s always good to get a win. That’s the main thing this time of year…..just win.
