This role in the Foundation is simple – raise money to support the Foundation’s mission to support the Flying Queens program, celebrate and preserve the Flying Queens legacy, and secure enduring financial support.
The Foundation seeks to raise funds through fundraising campaigns and grants. This committee also works with the Board of Directors to plan and organize social activities that tie in with HFQF meetings and special events.
Qualifications
A successful fundraising committee features members who are creative, committed to the cause, hard-working, and persistent. Fundraising committee members are fearless in asking for donations, sponsorships and prizes, auction items, discounts on food, and selling tickets! In other words, whatever needs to be done to run a successful fundraising event! Committee members with a flair for event planning will be key players in planning and implementing social activities tied to Foundation events.
Time Commitment
The Foundation’s biggest fundraiser is an annual gold tournament and takes several months to organize. Other fundraisers have been less labor-intensive (weeks to plan and run) and have been successful with effective planning and persistence in execution.
